Barcelona: A hub for finding purpose in a global community

Your community-driven magazine, offering tips, services for home abroaders, and unforgettable experiences.

A space dedicated to the human experience—to discovering purpose in life and sharing it with others. Creating a space to call home, even when you’re a thousand miles away from family and friends, and at the same time to have the confidence to explore uncharted territories and seek personal growth, wherever you are. If you ask anyone lucky enough to live in or visit Barcelona, they will tell you it is a magnet city with a splendid charm. Delightful weather, located in southern Europe, gazing out upon the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Just a mere hour and a half from the city, a snowy haven awaits in the mountains, inviting thrill-seekers and nature lovers to ski.

It’s no wonder why Spain's metropolis has an irresistible draw that captivates the souls of many, locals and global citizens alike. Stepping into Barcelona, people want to quickly enjoy and engage in lively conversations, have drinks, embark on adventures, explore the streets, absorb the culture, and fall in love with beaches such as San Sebastian, Playa de Bogatell, Nova Mar Bella, and many more. But of course, even if it's traveling for pleasure for a few months or work purposes, you still have to worry about going through bureaucratic mazes to solve important aspects such as living spaces, work permits, credit card scores, experiences, getting to know people, moving around and more.

The international community represents 23.6% of the total number of residents

Planning a tourist, one-week trip is completely different from going through decisions that will probably be completely life-changing for your future. Especially if you’re going to do it alone, you’ll probably wish you had a helping hand, someone who reassures you are following the best path. We hold the conviction that the virtues of empathy and friendliness should be cherished. Helping others without expecting anything in return, to form a community where people, regardless of where they’re from or where they’ve been, find inclusion. In the past years, Barcelona has become one of the favorite nomad destinations. According to the latest municipal register of residents by the Barcelona City Council, as of January 2023, the number of foreigners stands at 391,703 and has increased by 7.8% compared to the previous year.

Currently, the international community represents 23.6% of the total number of residents and it is expected to continue growing. We want to be a home for newcomers, not only in a physical space but also in a supportive way where everyone can find it. When you go somewhere new, you expect to have a smooth landing. That’s what we are all about. To be empathic with those who need to establish their lives in a different place, and try to find ways to discover what it takes to find a sense of belonging that makes everybody feel at home.
